So I was strolling on Instagram the other day and I ran across someone's post that posed the question about whether body count matters and if so why are women considered whores and men aren't: Well I had two perspectives: 1. We aren't/weren't created to sleep with more than one person in the first place. We are supposed to be married to the one God has chosen/ordained for us to be with and we are "supposed" to be whole and pure until then hence only giving ourselves to ONE person and with that we won't have a body count to count.....but we know the flesh is weak and unfortunately that is not most of our testimonies.... 2. My second perspective "outside" of biblical principles (because the author asked me if I could dig a little deeper and give a practical answer not necessarily on the spiritual side) I countered posed a question and asked....Well who created the " cut-off number" that determined if you surpass this amount you're considered a whore or if you are a woman it's not okay but if you are a man it is? I went on to explain that the problem is we have allowed Society's opinions, views and definition control how we think, how we live our life, how we respond to situations, how and who we love. The thing we don't see is "society" is people JUST LIKE US! It started with someone coming up with a thought or idea or opinion and that "thing" became the trend, which became the "norm", which then we accepted as the way of life. But IF you make a conscious decision to sleep with someone because you thought they were the "one" or your "forever" or because you just wanted to....that is YOUR FREE RIGHT to do so. Your choice is just that....your choice. That doesn't make you a whore because you've made the same choice a dozen times (granted you MAY have some other deep rooted issues that need to be addressed to determine why you're making the same choice that may or may not be working for you) but it's still your choice. So bottom line is....in my opinion "body count" only counts if you are a person that makes decisions/choices based on what others think, or if you live based off the way society says defines what you should or shouldn't do. If you are your own person who thinks for yourself then by "who's" definition are you seeking an answer for this question from??? What do you think #besties and #bros let me know below........
